I am the MCN of MCN Designs
Woodworking has always been a part of my life in some
way or another. My father, Donald Netherton, was a
jack-of-all-trades and he dabbled in everything related to
construction. He finally settled upon opening up his own
cabinet shop in Modesto, California where I was always
encouraged to use the tools and build things for myself. I
helped my father in his various projects and was given the
freedom to learn as much or as little as I wanted. But as
time passed on I felt the need to move as far from my Blue
Collar roots as possible.
After attending college, I was left unsatisfied with what
lay before me. I wanted to do something in which at the
end of the day I could look back and feel proud and
fulfilled as my late father did. I began my journey into
full-time woodworking by learning from many skilled
cabinetmakers and have decided to use my own skills to
branch out into my own venture.
Now I strive to create furniture and cabinetry that is
functional, beautiful and well crafted. In doing so I hope
to challenge and expand my own experiences and
hopefully create a bit of art along the way.
